The Boyle Heights Variety Boys and Girls Club invited artist Stephanie Mercado to share about the East Los Luv mural with their visual arts class. The students ages 5 – 10 years old, chose coloring activity sheets where they were able to add their self portraits and family photos. The workshop culminates in this online exhibition showcasing the artwork of the participating youth. All participants were given thank you cards, color pencil kits, post cards, stickers, and posters of an original artwork. Three awards were given to the participants with the most complete and creative artwork. 

The Variety Boys and Girls Club in Boyle Heights is doing an amazing job supporting East Side youth by filling in the gaps in art education, providing a space for physical activity and cultural enrichment. You can support their work and East Side youth by making a donation to the organization.
